Kamala Harris' bid for the 2024 presidential election begs one major question: Will Maya Rudolph return to "Saturday Night Live" to play the vice president in the show's 50th season?
While Rudolph and NBC have yet to comment on this, GIFs and memes of Rudolph as Harris on "SNL" have flooded social media with users rallying for Rudolph to reprise her iconic performance as Harris.
"Maya Rudolph coif that hair and slip that pantsuit on baby. You’re up," social media user Joopiter wrote on X.
"Maya Rudolph plsssssss get back in costume," another user Nicole Raquel Dennis wrote in a post on X alongside a video of Harris.
"Hope Maya Rudolph has cleared her schedule," journalist Yashar Ali said.

Maya Rudolph as Kamala Harris
Rudolph first played Harris in September 2019 during SNL's “DNC Town Hall” during which she sparred with Woody Harrelson's Joe Biden and echoed one of Harris' most viral lines from the first round of Democratic primary debates, when Harris confronted Biden in July 2019 about his opposition to school busing in the 1970s.
At one point during the show, Rudolph's Harris slipped on shades and sipped on a frozen drink, described herself as a "smooth talkin' lady lawyer" and a "walkin,' talkin' TNT show" who is "America's cool aunt. A fun aunt, I call that a 'funt.'"
Harris reacts to Rudolph's impression
Rudolph's impression of Harris had not only gone down well with audiences, but she also managed to impress Harris, who in a post on X in October 2019, joked that she intended to keep Rudolph "in work for the next 8 years!"

And sure enough, the "Saturday Night" alum returned to the show on multiple occasions to portray Harris. Her portrayal of Harris during the Democratic Presidential debates soon after the VP dropped out of the presidential race in December 2019 also won her an Emmy.
